Continuing the begining

Amazing this beautiful man a graduate of University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida with a BSEE degree,  intelligent, avid traveler Four years in US Navy,  family man whose first priority was always family. He liked to read USA Today everyday an looking back I realize he stopped reading the paper. It was subtle at first and I just thought maybe he is tired but I kept bringing it home. Finally I just stopped buying it. He didn't seem to notice.  Then he had this little dance with his feet like he couldn't keep them still. He would go back and forth one foot then the other. I ask him what is this new little dance you have going an he said I don't know. When he talked to neighbors the dance seem to get worse. Then the falls started just a few at first an never getting hurt just a little sore.  The slow downward spiral had started, we just didn't know it yet. To be continued .Deej.

The Long Goodbye

When the Doctor uttered those words "He has PSP" the fear of the unknown set in. What in the world is PSP.This diagnoses came in January 2011 and would forever change our lives and those around us. We left the Doctors office in shock thinking alright we have waited years for a diagnosis and now we have one. What do we do next. deej

The Begining

In retrospect I can see very subtle signs of this devastating disease PSP. Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Finally after several long years we can put a name to all his symptoms.
This disease is so rare that more often than naught it is
diagnosed as Parkinsonism.  First it was just a balance problem and the begining of so many falls which lead us to one Doctor after another. Just trying to find out what was going on with him. Every day is a struggle but we will get through it together along with three beautiful daughters. They are my life line.
